Flashes and Floaters

A sudden onset of flashing lights in your vision may be due to a pull on the retina at the back of your eye.  Floating Dots in the vision occur when debris forms in the vitreous humor (gel between the front and back of the eye).  Floaters and flashes do not usually cause long-term visual impairment.
